The Wastewater Plasmidome and its Derived Resistome: Insight into Their Dynamics in the Urban Water Systems (UWS)
ESBL plasmids are able to be exogenously isolated from urban sewers. IncN plasmid is prevalent across Europe and behaves as an efficient vector capable of disseminating multiple antibiotic resistance genes (including ESBL) in the UWSs.
There’re shared plasmid pools across different UWS compartments among different countries, and some plasmids can persist throughout the UWS processing.
The UWS plasmidome-derived resistome plays an important role in the total resistome, and this resistome is shaped by geographic-regional and UWS-sectional variations.

Fate of Antibiotics and Antibiotic Resistance Genes in Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) under Anaerobic Treatment Conditions
ARG concentrations are closely associated with humic acids, heavy metals and antibiotics in the municipal solid waste landfill leachates, implying landfilling contributes to the enrichment of ARGs in the long term.
Human food is not free of antibiotics and ARGs, and food waste is an underestimated antibiotic resistance pool with various determinants (heavy metals, humic substances, C-associated and N-associated contents, etc.). The ARG issue in the food waste can be mitigated through biological treatment with well-planned daily operations.

Enantioselectivity in Aquatic Toxicity of Synthetic Pyrethroid Insecticides Bifenthrin, Cyhalothrin and Permethrin
1R-enantiomer of bifenthrin (BF) has higher degrees of acute and developmental toxicity compared to the 1S-enantiomer, resulting in malformations in zebrafish embryos.
Bifenthrin has a remarkable enantioselective effect on the expression of thyroid receptor genes, deiodinase gene and thyroid-stimulating hormone gene, as well as metabolic genes, such as cytochrome P450 genes and uridine diphosphate glucuronosyltransferase gene.
