A Bit About Me
During my full-time jobs as a research assistant and a PhD student, I have worked with various environmental samples using traditional and modern microbiology approaches for detection or monitoring purposes (selective plating and screening, exogenous isolation, PCR, qPCR, shotgun metagenomic sequencing and Oxford Nanopore sequencing with a large-scale sampling campaign [> 200 samples]). Meanwhile, I have user experience in HPLC separation of synthetic pyrethroid insecticides for aquatic toxicity tests using the Zebrafish model; physicochemical parameter detection using TOC analyzer, ICP-MS and LC-MS for wastewater samples. I have also been working in the field at a drinking water treatment plant, several wastewater treatment plants in China, and four municipal solid waste landfills in Italy.
Currently, I am involved in the Global Sewage Project funded by Swedish Research Councils VR and FORMAS for my Postdoctoral research, performing antibiotic resistance selection assays for more than 40 different countries' sewage samples. I also have been involved in two European-wide projects [Joint Programming Initiative-Antimicrobial Resistance grant (JPI-AMR; DARWIN project #7044-00004B), and the DFF-Research Project 2 Grants from the Danish Council for Independent Research | Technology and Production (7017-00210A; SandBAR project)] during my PhD study, and worked in three national projects [National Basic Research Program of China (No. 2012CB719801), and the National Natural Science Foundation of China (No. 51622809, No. 51378375)] during my Master’s study.

Personally, I like encountering challenges and regard them as new opportunities, which is because they would inspire and motivate me to make new progress in a new area and deliver an honour to myself as I have the spirit of self-challenge and self-promotion.
